Real Talk: Opioid Awareness Workshop for Parents & Teens is a community event designed to educate and empower families about opioid use prevention and the impact of substance use among adolescents in Wake County. The workshop will feature separate, age-appropriate sessions for parents and teens, creating safe spaces for open and honest conversations. Teens will participate in a “No Parent Zone” session where they can ask questions, share their thoughts, and engage in honest discussions in a comfortable, judgment-free environment led by trusted facilitators. Parents will receive practical information, valuable resources, and effective strategies to help them recognize warning signs, communicate with their teens, and support healthy decision-making. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will enjoy a complimentary boxed lunch and have the opportunity to win exciting door prizes, including back-to-school shopping giveaways.
